It’s Not Just Cricket! It’s the RoR Biggest Fundraising Day

Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) is delighted to invite the world of racing to join them for its biggest fundraising event, the RoR Racing to Cricket tournament on Sunday, 3rd September 2023, at the prestigious Wormsley Cricket Ground on the Getty Estate, nr High Wycombe.

Tickets are now on sale to join RoR for this special day of cricket and hospitality with family, friends and racing connections. Guests will be welcomed on the day with a champagne reception and a sumptuous buffet lunch and traditional cricket tea in the private marquee which overlooks the picture-perfect cricket ground. Concerns relating to the aftercare of racehorses are increasing. As British Horseracing’s official charity for the welfare of horses who have retired from racing RoR is now looking to build on what has already been achieved by expanding its remit to find solutions that bring more assurance around aftercare and ensure that former racehorses enjoy life after racing. All proceeds raised from day, which also features a special auction of lots and raffle, go directly to help RoR to develop its increasingly important role in aftercare.

The cricket tournament sees the return of top flat and jump trainers yards fielding their representative teams in the limited overs 8-a-side knockout competition at Wormsley. Teams from the yards of Nicky Henderson, Richard Hannon, Ben Pauling, Jack Channon, as well as the combined Newmarket trainers’ team of George Boughey, James Ferguson and Charlie Fellowes, will compete to win the RoR Racing to Cricket Trophy.  Nicky Henderson’s team will be hoping to win their third successive tournament, so there’s no doubt the competition between the teams will be fierce and fun again.

RoR is also delighted to confirm the partnership for the second year with principal sponsor Irwin Mitchell, for this prestigious fundraising RoR Racing to Cricket Day. Irwin Mitchell provides legal and financial advice to both individuals and businesses.
